TERMS OF SERVICE
Terms of service
These terms apply to orders, quote requests, and appointments made through this website. They summarize how Keystrokes by Amber works; the specific rates and process details on each service page form part of these terms.
Orders are not confirmed on submission
Submitting a form on this site creates a request. It is not an accepted order or a booked appointment. Amber reviews every submission and will contact you to confirm whether it can be completed, and on what terms. Requested turnaround times are not guaranteed until Amber has confirmed them in writing.
Court transcripts
Court transcript orders are never submitted to the court automatically by this website. Amber reviews each request and submits the order to the court herself. Fees follow Ontario Regulation 94/14; where information on this site differs from the current consolidated regulation, the regulation governs. Recording availability, access restrictions, and publication bans are controlled by the court and may affect whether a transcript can be produced.
General transcription
A written quote is provided after Amber reviews the project details. A 50% deposit is required before work begins, with the balance due before delivery. A quote may be revised if the full recording differs materially from what was described when the quote was issued.
Outstanding balances are subject to interest at 2% per month (24% per annum) from the invoice due date. Hard-copy delivery is charged at $0.20 per printed page plus the actual cost of postage or courier, and is dispatched only after payment in full. Carrier delivery dates are estimates outside Amber’s control; you are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address.
Notary services
A notary appointment is not booked until Amber confirms it. Notarization does not guarantee the legal sufficiency of a document and does not include legal advice or drafting. You are responsible for confirming any foreign authentication, apostille, or legalization requirements with the receiving country or organization.
Limitations
General transcription does not include audio repair, recording authentication, forensic analysis, guaranteed speaker identification, or guaranteed recovery of inaudible speech. A Certificate of Accuracy confirms that a transcript is, to the best of Amber’s skill and understanding, an accurate transcription of the audible content provided -- it does not authenticate the original recording or confirm it is complete or unaltered.
Not legal advice
This website, and communication through it, is not legal advice. Amber is a licensed paralegal and Ontario Authorized Court Transcriptionist, but engaging her for transcription or notary services does not create a lawyer-client relationship, and nothing on this site should be relied on as legal advice for your specific situation.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario. Questions about these terms can be sent to Amberwebsite@proton.me.
